Agree on who brings what

What causes the most messages in a barbecue group chat is the question of what to bring. Settle it in the invitation itself:

  • "Meat's on us, bring your own drinks" or the shared cost per person.
  • The Pix key for the shared cost fits better in the message than written on the artwork.
  • If there is a pool, remind guests to bring a swimsuit and towel.
  • Whether children are welcome — and whether there is room for them to play.

Barbecue hours

A barbecue usually starts early and ends late. Write the start time ("from 12 PM") and, if the venue has a closing time, say so too; people arriving late in the afternoon will thank you.
